The Inca Trail to MachuPicchu is one of best known and most popular hiking trip on the world this trail shows magnificent mountains range, exotic vegetation and extraordinary ecological variety. The trail runs over high mountains. The highest pass is at 4,200 meters above sea level (13,776 feet; Warmiwañusca pass) where you can enjoy fantastic views, through cloud forest and tropical vegetation. The trek shows different altitudes running from 2,220 to 4,200 meters above sea level. Over 250 species of orchids have been counted in the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary, as well as numerous rare birds, reptiles, including several endangered species. DAY 01: CUSCO/ KM 82/ HUAYLLABAMBA
Hotel pick up at 06:00 o’clock in the morning and transportation to Chilca Ville where we meet porters and cooks who will help us to bring camping equipment and food preparation during the hiking trip. Afterward we continue driving until Piscacucho (Km 82), which is the starting point of Inca´s Trail trekking, once there we start walking through arid soil along the Urubamba river with magnificent views of snow capped Mountain “La Veronica” (5,682 m.a.s.l). We walk seeing the archeological sites which are far away from the path. After 4 to 5 hours walking we get our first camp site in the Andean community of Huayllabamba an ancient Inca’s citadel who protects the entrance to two valleys. DAY 02: WAYLLABAMBA/ PACAYMAYU
We wake up at about 6:00 o’clock. After a healthy breakfast we leave Wayllabamba starting to climb up with direction to warmihuañusca pass which is at 4,200 m.a.s.l (13,776 ft) along the way you have the chance to see the ecology changing, as you leave the reasonably mild valley behind and reach the treeless pastures in the cold high parts. The high mountain grass “ichu”, can be found at the highest parts of these pastures. Before reaching the pass there is a camping site named Llulluchapampa, which has a good location to enjoy marvelous views and of course you can take in there for a good break before climbing up the last part to the pass.. Once on the top of the pass we go down until second campsite named Pacaymayu at 3,600 m.a.s.l (11,480ft) Total distance: 11 km (6, 84 miles) Estimated walking time: : 7 to 8 hours Maximum altitude point: 4,200 m.a.s.l (13,776 ft) Campsite altitude: 3,600 m (11,480 ft)
DAY 03: PACAYMAYU/ WIÑAYHUAYNA
This is the most impressive day, interesting and the longest part of the trail, along the hiking path we can find archeological remnants as well as Runkuracay at 3800m.a.s.l (12,467 ft) this small circular ruin occupies a commanding position overlooking the Pacaymayo bellow valley. Afterward we lead you until the top of the second pass named “Abra de Runkuracay” at 4,000m.a.s.l (13,123 ft).At last you’ll feel that you are walking along the paving trail of the Incas. The descent from the pass is down through steeps and so need take care. This section of the trail up till the 3rd pass which is particularly beautiful as the path crosses high stone embankments and skirts deep precipices. After about one hour from the 2nd pass we arrive to Sayacmarca archeologycal site 3624 m.a.s.l (11,889 ft) by way of a superbly designed stone staircase. The name Sayacmarca means ‘Inaccessible Town’ and describes the position of the ancient town perfectly protected on three sides by sheer cliffs. No one knows the exact purpose of these constructions, from 3rd pass the path descends into magnificent cloud forest full of orchids, hanging mosses, tree ferns and flowers, passing through an impressive Inca tunnel, carved into the rock, on the way. Finally we get last Campsite in the beautiful Wiñayhuayana’s Andean village. Total distance: 16 km (9, 94 miles) Estimated walking time: 6 to 7 hours. DAY 04: WIÑAYHUAYNA/ MACHUPICCHU
We wake up early! After breakfast and set off on the trail again by 5:30 am it is to arrive Machu Picchu before sunrise. After two hours walking approximately we will arrive to sun gate which is named “Inti punku” in quechua language so from here we will be able to enjoy the sunrise up Machu Picchu which is spread out before, an unforgettable experience. Afterward we descent for forty minutes until the old city of Machu Picchu to enjoy and explore in a guided tour, then you’ll get plenty of time to take pictures and explore the citadel by yourself of course you can also climb up the Huaynapicchu mountain (2700 m.a.s.l). On afternoon we go down by bus until Aguas Calientes town where we catch train back to Cusco for around four hours. Total distance: 4 km (2, 49 miles) Estimated walking time: 2 hours. Maximum altitude point: 2,700 m (8,829 ft) Campsite altitude: 2,400 m (7,872 ft)

OTHER INFORMATION Changes by the Client: Any changes to the original departure dates must be confirmed in writing by the person signing the booking form and whilst every reasonable effort will be made to accommodate changes without extra payment. Inka Jungle Tours – TOUR OPERATOR: The Company changes and cancels a tour caused by major force circumstances such as protests, strikes, natural disasters and any other which cause damage to the client.
Travel Insurance: The Client MUST take out suitable travel insurance in order to take part in a tour organized by the Company. Clients are wholly responsible for arranging their own insurance. A suitable insurance policy should provide adequate cover for medical expenses arising through illness or accident prior to or during the holiday and loss of holiday monies through cancellation and curtailment of the holiday for insurable reasons.
Passports, Visas and Vaccinations: Clients must ensure that they are aware of all relevant passport and visa requirements and those they allow adequate time to obtain them. Please note that many countries require that passports are valid for six months beyond the period of the Client’s stay. Requirements can change and it is the Clients’ responsibility to ensure that they comply with current passport, visa and health requirements and take all necessary documents with them to gain access to any country or region which forms part of the tour. The Client will be solely responsible for any cost, loss or damage which he or the Company incurs as a result of a failure to obtain all necessary passports, visas and/or vaccinations.
